What Moms want as gifts
For many brick & mortar, and internet stores, Mother's Day is the second largest gift season, for others it's the third largest with Valentine's taking second.
There are approximately 82.8 million mothers in the United Sates, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Hallmark's
Web site states that 155 million people sent Mothers Day
cards last year.
What do most of them want as a gift? A recent survey I
just finished reading says that many want personal gifts....pampering gifts that soothe...lotions, bath
crystals, candles etc. As our daily loves grow busier,
there are fewer hours and oppotunities to pamper and
relax. It's important to renew the mind, body and spirit.
It's very easy to create that thought in your client's mind with a gift basket filled with bath and body products set in your store, or a picture on your website.
Re enforce the ideas with words about how your products
can pamper a Mom and make her feel very appreciated.
Many of your clients don't want to purchase a gift for
their Mom, they want to purchase an experience...
remember that you aren't selling candles and lotion...
you're selling experiences.
I once read that Revlon does not sell lipstick
and makeup..they sell hope.
